Performance Season 2016-2017

Led by Artistic Director Lori Zamzow-Wire, and Company Director Michelle Bourgeois, Sugarloaf Ballet presents four full-length productions each year:

The Sleeping Beauty

October 8-9, 2016 – Infinite Energy Theater (Formerly Gwinnett Performing Arts Center)

See the excitement in your children's eyes as they experience the classic fairytale, The Sleeping Beauty. Scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, October 8th and 9th, Sugarloaf Ballet returns Lori Zamzow-Wire's adaption to Infinite Energy Theatre.

With the birth of Princess Aurora, King Florestan declares a grand christening ceremony to be held in her honor. As her six fairy godmothers are bestowing their magical gifts upon the newly born princess, the wicked fairy Carabosse appears. Filled with anger and jealousy, the nefarious Carabosse casts an evil spell on Aurora. Beginning on her sixteenth birthday, this curse, which lasts 100 years, can only be broken by her true love’s kiss. With a fate that seems doomed, Prince Florimund appears in a heroic act of rescue, saving the day. With happily ever after on the horizon, many fairytale favorites such as Red Riding Hood, Cinderella and her Prince, White Cat, Bluebird, and the Wolf appear to congratulate Prince Florimund and Princess Aurora on their marriage.
